Janice (Hutton) Inman

July 26, 1932 ~ February 1, 2017 (age 84) 84 Years Old

Janice Hutton Inman, 84, of Avon, IN, died February 1, 2017. She was the ninth child born to Fred and Maggie (Drehobl) Hutton in Bedford, IN. She married John Inman of Odon, IN, who preceded her in death in 1985. They were the parents of Jeffrey Inman, who survives, and Jerelyn Inman, who died in 1996. Also surviving are grandsons, Michael and David Inman.

Janice was a secretary who worked at the Crane Naval Warfare Center, Allison, the IRS, and the FAA. She worked at Avon Schools for 26 years and was a secretary to the superintendent of schools for 17 of those years.

After retirement, Janice wrote a book entitled, The Heartbeat of Hendricks Community--Our Hospital, a compilation of interviews with 80 hospital associates. All proceeds from the sale of this book were donated to the hospital. Janice and her late sister, Leona Jane Hutton Whittaker, then co-wrote a book entitled, Hutton Memories.

Janice was a member of St. Malachy Catholic Church in Brownsburg, IN, the hospital Auxiliary Guild and Cancer Support Group, and the American Cancer Society Reach to Recovery program. She also served on the Board of Washington Township Public Library in Avon, IN.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 8th, 2017 at St. Malachy Church in Brownsburg, IN. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 9th, 2017 at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon, IN followed by interment.
