Winona M. (Pershing) Overton

Winona Mae Overton, 81, of Odon, Indiana, went peacefully to Heaven with family by her side at her home, on Sunday, February 25, 2024. She was born on July 5, 1942 in Washington, Indiana to Raymond and Clara Mae (Lamb) Pershing. She was married to Kenneth Lloyd Overton, the father of her children, on October 11, 1958.

Winona was a homemaker. She loved being able to take care of her home and family.

Family left to cherish the memory of Winona include: her children, Teresa LaSota of Bloomfield, IN, Ramona (Steve) Hughes of Bridgeport, IL, Anita (Kelly) Dyer of Arvada, CO, Rhonda (Gary) Clements of Washington, IN, Debra Jo (Paul) Himsel of Washington, IN and Lloyd (Juanita) Overton of Dubois, IN; grandchildren, Jason (Toby) Pridemore, Audra (Nelson) Stoll, Jeremy (Amber) Hudson, Heather (Kevin) Elliott, Jessica Hudson, Craig (Jennifer) Dyer, Ryan Dyer, Megan (Brandon) Auberry, Cody (Katelyn) Clements, Casey Himsel, Justin Himsel, Allysia Overton, Rylee Overton; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Betty Thatcher, Oneida Taylor, Barbara Roach and Barry Pershing.

Winona was preceded in death by her parents, the father of her children, Kenneth Overton and son-in-law, Chuck LaSota.

Funeral services to honor the life of Winona will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Bryan Sanders officiating. Winona will be laid to rest in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon.

Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at the funeral home.

The family has requested that contributions be made in Winona’s memory to the charity of your choice.
