Donetta G. 'Jean" (Bollinger) McRoberts Fesler

Donetta G. ‘Jean’ McRoberts Fesler, 83, of Jasper, Indiana, made Heaven her final destination, on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at her residence in Jasper. She was born on September 12, 1935 in Clay City, Indiana to Fred and Emma (Steele) Bollinger. She married Roy V. McRoberts on May 28, 1952 and produced four stellar children. After they divorced, she married Jerry Fesler on September 4, 1981.

Our dear mother had a great passion for her pets and always donated to the animal shelters. Her other great passions were her gardening and decorating. She was the oldest female and a life member of the Odon VFW and wasn’t ashamed to let you know it. She retired in 1985 from Westinghouse in Bloomington.

She loved to cook and eat; her last meal was the joy of having Indiana mushrooms one last time. Wherever they lived, she knew and loved her neighbors, of note are Denny and Donna Day. She loved them greatly, they were so helpful to her after it became apparent that treatments could no longer help.

If time is a teacher, then she learned well and passed on her wit and wisdom in ways we each have benefitted from in countless ways. Her journey is complete, the victory in Christ is here forth forever more hers to possess. She most of all wanted everyone to know how much she loved them.

Family left behind to cherish her memory includes: three daughters, Mary McRoberts of Jasper, Marsha (Mark) Smith of Centerville, TX and Beverly (Mark) Dean of Louisville, KY; one son, Roy (Dee) McRoberts of Solsberry; step-children, Mike (Diane) Fesler of Bloomington and Andrea Fonley of Shoals; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews too numerous to count.

Jean was preceded in death by: her parents; first husband, Roy McRoberts; second husband, Jerry Fesler; grandson, Chuck Graeter; three sisters Polly Keller, Vallena Bollinger and Annie Bucklin.

A memorial service is scheduled for 12 Noon on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Pastor Roy S. McRoberts officiating. Family and friends may gather from 10:00 until the time of service at 12 Noon and share their memories of Donetta. The Ladies Auxiliary at Odon VFW will provide a memorial service to honor Donetta’s life.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
