Leo Ray Hinkle

Leo Ray Hinkle, 84, of Plainville, Indiana, peacefully passed away with his loving family by his side, on Friday, May 24, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville. He was born on October 20, 1934 in Daviess County to Clifford and Letha (Goodwin) Hinkle. Ray married the love of his life, Sharon (Golliher) Hinkle on September 12, 1953.

Ray and Sharon owned and operated Ray’s Market for 32 years. He enjoyed time spent with his family, hunting, fishing and growing his flowers in later years.

Family left to cherish Ray’s memory includes: his wife, Sharon Hinkle; two sons, Daniel Clifford (Dawn) Hinkle of Plainville and Kelly Earl Hinkle of Washington; three daughters, Darla Rae (Roman) Wagler of Washington, Kara Sue Dougherty and Melissa Jean (Seth) Miller, both of Plainville; eight grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandsons and sister, Linda Brown of Elnora.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, brother Kenneth Hinkle and brother-in-law, Gary Brown.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Alfred Helms officiating. Ray will be laid to rest in Plainville Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 28 and from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
