Mary Ruth (Bullock) Gremore

Mary Ruth Gremore, 86, of Odon, IN, and formerly of Bloomfield, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 20, 2018. She was born May 19, 1931, to Mary Doris (Jones) and William J. Bullock in Washington, IN. She is survived by her devoted, loving husband, Ken Gremore, whom she married on October 27, 1951, in Washington, IN. The two have been happily married for 66 years and currently reside at Parkview Village in Odon, IN.  Mary Ruth was one of 14 children and is survived by two sisters, Mary Doris Cook and Mary Anita Cornelius.   

Mary Ruth is the mother of two surviving children Darla (Robert) Bent and George (Pam) Gremore all of Bloomfield.  She was adored and loved by her family and 6 grandchildren: Zack (Gala) Bent of Seattle, WA; Karlyn (Blair) Lynch and Kaebra (James) Justin all of Fishers, IN; Corey Gremore and fiancé Pharyne Stephney of Bloomington, IN; Emily (Jordan) Hasler of Bloomfield, IN; and Lindley (Marc) Makens of Charlotte, NC.  Mary Ruth has 11 great-grandchildren: Ezra, Soloman and Caspar Bent; Clara, Elias, and Molly Lynch; Isaac, Lucy, and Kate Justin and baby Makens due in May and baby Hasler due in July.

Mary Ruth was an active member of the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Bloomfield. She was formerly employed at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN as a patient insurance representative before moving to Greene County.  Here, she worked at NSWC Crane and later, she and her husband owned and operated Gremore’s Farmers Market.  Her most treasured role was that of a homemaker, mother, and grandmother.  She loved to travel, garden, and bake. She was an avid IU Hoosier basketball fan.  She was very community minded and always willing to help when needed. Mary Ruth never met a stranger and her beautiful smile and warm, caring personality will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mary Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, eight brothers, and three sisters.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Bloomfield, IN, with Father Biju Thomas officiating.  Mary Ruth will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery in Bramble, IN.

Family and friends may gather for visitation at the Meng Family Funeral Home, 616 East Elnora Street, in Odon, IN, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, April 25th, with the Rosary Prayer Service scheduled at 7:00 PM.  Visitation will continue at the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Bloomfield, IN, on Thursday, April 26th, from 9:00 AM until the hour of Mass at 10:00 AM.
