Richard L. Davis

Richard L. Davis, 74, of Elnora, Indiana, entered eternal rest peacefully on Saturday, October 28, 2017 in Evansville. He was born on January 23, 1943 in Daviess County, Indiana to Carl O. and Genevieve D. (McCarter) Davis. Richard was united in marriage to Barbara A. (Moulden) Davis on April 21, 1962 and they had two children.

Richard was a member of the Elnora United Methodist Church and was the Past Master of Elnora Masonic Lodge #616 F&AM. He was a graduate of Odon High School, Class of 1961. He worked at Crane Naval Base for a few years and then started working as a rural mail carrier in Elnora, retiring in 2001. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Survivors include: his wife, Barbara Davis of Elnora; son, Kent (Tammy) Davis of Bruceville; daughter, Heather Davis of Elnora; two grandchildren, Brandon Davis, Brandi (David) Wright; great-grandchildren, Skylar and Kamber; sister, Betty Jo Davis of Odon.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his brother.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Meng Family Funeral Home, 616 E. Elnora St., Odon, IN with Rev. Debbie Payne officiating. Richard will be laid to rest in Elnora Fairview Cemetery in Elnora, IN.

Calling hours will be held from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 and from 9:00 A.M. until the hour of the funeral service on Thursday. A Masonic Memorial service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday.
