Sharon Ruth 'Ruthie' (Bennington) Robinson

Sharon Ruth ‘Ruthie’ Robinson, 73, of Elnora, Indiana, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at her residence. She was born on January 16, 1946 in Washington, Indiana to Virgil and Golden (Bradford) Bennington. Ruthie married William D. Robinson on July 29, 1971. 

Ruthie was a 45-year member of the Elnora American Legion Post #245 Auxiliary. She drove a school bus for North Daviess Schools for 22 years, worked in the kitchen at Ketcham Memorial Nursing Center and then became the bar manager at the Elnora American Legion Post #245.

Family left to cherish the memory of Ruthie includes: two sons, Andrew Robinson and Bryton Robinson, both of Evansville; one daughter, Kylie Robinson of Loogootee; one step-son, Larry Robinson of Vincennes; three grandchildren; one brother, Barney (Christina) Chambers of Odon; two sisters, Tammie Miley and Gennie (Joe) Matthews, both of Elnora.

Ruthie was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, William Robinson; one brother, Darrell Chambers and one sister, Charolette Long.

A funeral service honoring Ruthie’s life will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 4, 2019 at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Bro. Richard Smith officiating. Ruthie will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Elnora.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 3 and from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Elnora American Legion Post #245 Auxiliary in memory of Ruthie. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
