Sharon Louise (Kaiser) Shafer

Sharon L. Shafer, 80, of Odon, Indiana, went peacefully to Heaven, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, July 20, 2018. She was born in Carlisle, Indiana on January 14, 1938 to Minard J. and Lois Maxine (Morris) Kaiser. She married her husband of sixty-one years, Gerrie Shafer, on September 14, 1956.

Sharon was a member of the Odon Nazarene Church and WRVAA. She enjoyed horseback riding and camping. Sharon drove a school bus for North Daviess Schools until she retired in 2002.

Survivors include: her husband, Gerrie Shafer; three sons, Tony Shafer of Odon, Terry (Tonya) Shafer of Plainville and Bob (Lisa) Shafer of Odon; two daughters, Debbie Parsons of Elnora and Tina (Tony) Paige of Washington; thirteen grandchildren, Beth, Allie, Cory, Neil, Craig, Julie, Clinton, Meagan, Joncellia, Johnny, Adam, Zack and Jordan; twenty great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard (Lana) Kaiser and one sister, Jane (Jerry) Smith.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 24 at Odon Nazarene Church with Pastor Josh Nichols officiating. Sharon will be laid to rest in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, July 23 at the Meng Family Funeral Home and from 9:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at the church.
