A. Laverne Medlock, 80, of Linton passed away Thursday, October 12, 2006 at Glenburn Nursing Home in Linton. Laverne was born June 26, 1926 in Greene County, Indiana to Jesse and Lelia (Reed) Wright. On March 1, 1947 she married Kenneth M. Medlock. Laverne worked at GC Murphy Dept. Store for 29 years before retiring in 1991. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church and a charter member of Linton Ladies Civitan Club. She is survived by her husband; Kenneth M. Medlock of Linton, IN, son; Steve Medlock of Newberry, IN, son; Terry (Carla) Medlock of Linton, IN, daughter; Peggy Flath of Evansville, IN, five grandchildren; Melissa (Perry) Dupree, Brandon Flath, D'Lee (Brian) Mayfield, Amber (Brian) McAtee, Kenton Medlock, ten great-grandchildren; Emily, Faith, Cameron and Addison Dupree, Chloie Mayfield, K'Lynn Medlock, Hayden and Haylea Flath, Grant and Kate McAtee. She is also survived by her sister Josephine (Harold) Underwood of New Albany, IN and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister Dorothy Padgett. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 15, 2006 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM and on Monday, October 16, 2006 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 16, 2006 at 11:00 AM at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel and Rev. Dick Smith will officiate. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton, IN. The family has requested memorial contributions to be made to the Alheimers Association.
