Alan Dale Moody, 76, of Worthington, Indiana, went to Heaven on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at his residence. He was born on October 30, 1949, in Linton, Indiana, to Marion Jolly and Leona Marie (Blanton) Moody. Alan married his loving wife Barbara ‘Jean’ (Musgrave) Moody on October 30, 1970.
Alan served in the US Air Force and then with the 181st Tactical Fighter Group Air National Guard, with an Honorable Discharge. He participated in the Winston P. Wilson Rifle and Pistol Championship at Little Rock, Arkansas where he received the Exceptional Mentorius Service Award. Alan was of the Christian faith, serving as a song leader for several years. He worked as a trucker for TKM and was a crop and cattle farmer. Alan enjoyed hunting, fishing (Bass Masters and other fishing tournaments), go-kart and formula car racing. He was a member of the Air National Guard Colorado Championship Bowling League. Alan especially loved family gatherings and vacations.
Family left to cherish the memories of Alan include: his wife, Jean Moody; one son, Christopher (Angela) Moody of Worthington; one grandson, Dylan Moody; one sister, Sharon (Paul) Indelicato of Wesley Chapel, FL; two brothers, Mark (Marlene) Moody of Bloomington and Timothy (Kathy) Moody of Bedford.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents, son, Chad Moody and infant twin daughters, Heather and Valerie.
Graveside services to honor the life of Alan will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Maple Grove Cemetery, Clay City, Indiana with Lesli English officiating.
There will be no public viewing.
