Amanda Fern 'Mandy' Jewell, 63, of Dugger, Indiana, was called home to Heaven, on Saturday, September 26, 2020 surrounded by her loving family at her home. She was born on December 2, 1956 in Sullivan, Indiana to Cecil 'Blackie' and Annabelle (Hickman) Fifer. Mandy married Dennis M. Jewell on August 17, 1995 and they spent 33 wonderful years together before he was called home.
Mandy was a member of Mt. Calvary Methodist Church, where she served as Secretary and Treasurer, the BYKOTA Club in Dugger and the Dugger Coal Festival Committee. Mandy was former owner of Sister's Coffee Shop, Court Side Café and Mandy's Hometown Pizza, all in Dugger and she was blessed to create so many wonderful friendships and memories. Mandy loved having and working with the school kids and supporting Union High School Athletics. Her most cherished moments were having her grandsons over for Sunday dinner and watching them play in sporting events.
Family left to cherish the memory of Mandy includes: one daughter, Cara (Saul) Arthur of Ohio; step-son, Todd (Emily) Jewell of Pleasantville; six grandchildren, Alexander, Aristotle, Achilles and Ajax Arthur, Addison and Seth Jewell; two sisters, Judy Jerrell of Linton and Kathy Cox of Dugger and several nieces and nephews.
Mandy was preceded in death by: her parents, her husband, Dennis Jewell and one brother, Wayne Fifer.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Meng Family Funeral Homes, Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Glynn Wills officiating. Mandy will be laid to rest in Dugger Cemetery.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, September 29 and from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Calvary Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Scott Goodman, 2905 S. Co. Rd. 350 E., Sullivan, IN 47882.
