Betty Ruth McRoberts, 88, of Odon, Indiana, went to Heaven peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 in Odon. She was born on November 16, 1928 in Martin County, Indiana to Homer and Lola (Empson) Fisher.

Betty was a member of the Cornettsville Methodist Church, Eastern Star and Ladies VFW. She worked as an Ordnance Supervisor at Crane before retiring in 1995.

Survivors include: one son, Larry (Janet) McRoberts of Odon; three daughters, Sue (Sonny) Pruett of Shoals, Lynn (Al) Madsen and Ginger (Bryan) Porter, both of Odon; grandchildren, Mike Pruett, Tonya Pruett-Becker, Mike Saunders, Larry McRoberts, Jr., Wes and Shane Porter, Casey, Nicole, and Kirsten Madsen; great-grandchildren, Damon, Courtney and Makenna Pruett, Matthew, Kaitlyn and Natalie McRoberts, Pete, Annie and Abby Saunders, Sydney Porter, Rylee and Raylan Becker; one sister, Lois Beard of Vincennes.

Betty was preceded in death by: her parents, son, Joe McRoberts, Jr.; sister, Agnes Johnson; granddaughters, Melanie Allen and Samantha Porter.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM on Friday, September 22, 2017 at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Pastor Gwen Pew officiating. Betty will be laid to rest in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, September 21 and from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Samantha Porter Scholarship Fund at Crane Federal Credit Union. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
