Betty Lee (Baker) Sprinkle of Plainville, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 99 years on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at the Ketcham Memorial Center in Odon, Indiana. She was born on April 14, 1927, in Wheatland, Indiana where she was the thirteenth of fourteen children born to Samuel T. and Ida May (Harbin) Baker and was the last to survive.

Betty grew up on the family farm in Knox County, Indiana’s Steen Township, surrounded by brothers, sisters, and nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of Wheatland High School. On October 22, 1948, Betty married Aden Michael ‘Mike’ Sprinkle. Mike and Betty moved to the Plainville, Indiana area and, together, established a successful family farm. They were happily married for 45 years until Mike passed away on May 6, 1994. Their union was blessed with three children, nine grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.

Betty was a member of the Plainville Christian Church and remained active until age and declining health limited her attendance. She was the consummate farm wife. She enjoyed traveling and motorcycle rides with Mike. After Mike’s death, she continued to travel with family and friends as she was able. She was well liked and respected by her community and loved by her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Mike Sprinkle, and thirteen siblings, Richard Baker, Kenneth Baker, Harold Baker, William Baker, Marie Dare, Nina Littell, Mary Prather, Kathryn Allison, Wilma Sprinkle, Sue Martindale, Ruth Baker Padgett, Lois Williams and Aline McCray.

She is survived by two daughters, Beverly (Don) Spillman of Washington and Becky (Lee) Rollins of Plainville; one son, Michael D. (Ronda) Sprinkle of Plainville; a niece raised like a sister, Leah Blann; nine grandchildren, Gretchen (Scott) Wagler, Regina (Alan) Cornelius, Robert (Greta) Rollins, Ryan (Lesly) Spillman, Laurie (Ryan) Petty, Whitney (Bill) Dyer, Kelley (Trey) Stoll, Erin (Blake) Beaman, and Michael Schae (Jayden) Miller; eighteen great-grandchildren: Caleb Wagler, Kilee Wagler, Jazmin Wagler, Alexis (Britton) Helms, Alaina Cornelius, Mackenzie Spilllman, Brynnlee Rollins, Jude Rollins, Braeden Petty, Reece Petty, Kellan Petty, Peyton Dyer, Tate Dyer, Mabrey Dyer, Truett Stoll, Tristan Stoll, Jeffrey Beaman, and Raelee Beaman.

Services to celebrate the life of Betty Sprinkle will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Ashley Shurtz officiating. Betty will be laid to rest in Plainville Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ketcham Memorial Center, Plainville Volunteer Fire Department or Camp Illiana. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
