Obituary

Brittany L. Burton Tron, 42, of Evansville, IN, passed away unexpectedly surrounded by loved ones, on October 16, 2026, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana.Born on March 9, 1984, in Vincennes, Indiana, she was the beloved daughter of Tammy & Tony Burton, devoted wife of Jason Tron, and a cherished sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend.

To know Brittany was to know someone who had a personality all her own. She was funny, outspoken, adventurous, and never afraid to be herself. She had a way of bringing laughter and happiness into the lives of those around her, leaving memories that will continue to bring smiles even through the tears.

Her faith was an important part of who she was. She carried a strong belief in God throughout her life, finding strength and comfort in her faith, even through life's most difficult challenges. She was affiliated with Bethany Christian Church and a member of The Nazarene Church of Carmi, Illinois. Over the past three years, she faced a courageous battle with cancer, showing strength and determination along the way. But her life was never defined by her illness. It was defined by the love she gave, the faith she held, and the joy she found in living.

Family meant everything to Brittany. She loved her husband, parents, and brother fiercely, but her nieces held an especially precious place in her heart. Although she was unable to have children of her own, she had an endless amount of love to give, and her nieces were among the greatest joys of her life. She embraced being an aunt with her whole heart, creating a bond and memories that will be treasured forever. She also shared an incredibly special bond with her beloved cat, Gizmo, who was as devoted to her as she was to her furry companion.

Brittany had a love for adventure and making memories. Whether she was enjoying a motorcycle ride, spending time with family, or simply finding happiness in life's little moments, she appreciated the experiences that made life worth living. And anyone who knew her knew about her love for Jack Skellington, a little piece of her personality that will always bring a smile when remembered.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jason Tron; her parents, Tony & Tammy Burton; her brother, Chad Burton (Meagan); her beloved nieces, Lexie, Delilah & Miley Burton and Bella Hinkle; mother-in-law, Donna Tron (Donnie Rush); her fur baby, Gizmo.

Brittany was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Betty and Carl Burton; maternal grandparents, Bob and Punk Lynn.

To honor the life of Brittany, a funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Noah Hinson and Tom Watson officiating.

Family and friends may gather from 11:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.

While her passing leaves an emptiness in the hearts of those who loved her, her family finds comfort in the faith she held so strongly and the memories she leaves behind.

Her time here was far too short, but the love, laughter, and light she brought into this world will remain with those who knew her for a lifetime.

Arrangements and care were entrusted to Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon, Indiana. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family online at www.mengfuneralhome.com.
