(Comer) Kryder
January 8, 1954 – April 14, 2025
Carol Ann Kryder, 71, of Odon, Indiana, passed peacefully, surrounded by family on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Ascension St. Vincent Seton Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born on January 8, 1954, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to James Carroll Comer and Mary Ann (Frizzell) Hieston. Carol married Chuck Kryder on February 23, 2016.
Carol was a member of the 2nd Mt. Olive Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher and very much involved in the Lord's work. She was employed by the State of Indiana and worked as an Executive, overseeing Employment Offices for the entire state. Carol retired in 2009, with 36 years of service. She was a member of the Indiana Blacksmith Association and the Daviess County Friends for Kids. She enjoyed gardening and antiquing in her leisure time. Most importantly, she liked cooking, attending to her family and spending quality time with them.
Family who will cherish the memories of Carol include: her husband, Chuck Kryder; one son, Aaron (Victoria) Baker; three grandchildren, Christopher Baker, Aiden Baker, and William Baker; four step-daughters, Theresa M. Kryder, Kristina A. (Nicholas) Sanders, Karen R. Kryder, and Tiffany R. Kryder; four step-grandchildren and four great-step-grandsons; sisters, Kathryn Comer Paton and Sharon Comer Yocum; brothers, Stan (Sherre) Comer, Eric (Sheri) Hieston, and Brett (Angee) Comer; step-brother, Bobby (Cindy) Hieston; step-sisters, Nancy (Ford) Minton, Debbie (Mike) Rosemeyer, and Rhonda Ethridge.
Carol was preceded in death by: her parents; step-father, George Hieston; step-mother Barbara Comer and a step-sister, Robin Welch Comer.
A celebration of life will be from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at the 2nd Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Odon. A memorial service will follow at 12 Noon with Adam Cissell officiating.
