Catherine S. "Cathy" Gibson, 62, of Sullivan, Indiana, passed away with her family by her side, on Monday, January 27, 2025, at her home. She was born on March 30, 1962, in Linton, Indiana to Marion Joseph and Charlotte A. (Marshall) Phillips. Cathy married her loving husband, James R. Gibson, on May 23, 1980.

Cathy was the owner of Velox Express and Steel Wheel Campground and Trading Post. In her free time, she enjoyed being with her family and grandchildren, traveling, especially cruising, attending Broadway plays, being a CASA advocate, and spending time with her dogs.

The family left to cherish the memories of Cathy include: her husband, James R. Gibson; son, James Gibson, Jr. of Deadwood, SD; two daughters, Megan Jerrell of Linton and Gina Gibson of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Halee (Nathaniel) Rhoads, Jaxson Smith, Gabriel (Alleigh) Gibson, Grace Jerrell and Molly Jane Gibson. Her sister Angie (Randy) Bedwell of Jasonville and survived by several nieces and nephews.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services to honor the life of Cathy will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Gregg Orman officiating.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at 1:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to CASA of Sullivan County. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
