IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cathy J.
(Clark) Spears
January 15, 1953 – December 26, 2025
Cathy Jean Spears, 72, of Odon entered into eternal rest Friday, December 26th, 2025. Born to Albert and Esther (Kelsey) Clark on January 15th, 1953, Cathy was the youngest of six Clark children.
After graduating from North Daviess in 1971, Cathy married her high school sweetheart, Thomas "Tommy" Sims. Their son Jason blessed the home in the winter of 1976. Tommy tragically passed in 1980, and Cathy & Jason were forced to rebuild their lives. In 1983, Cathy married Larry Spears and shortly thereafter, Michael's arrival made the family a party of four.
Cathy was happiest at a busy family gathering; she enjoyed hosting holiday meals and summertime picnics. She enjoyed trips to the Smoky Mountains. Children were always special to Cathy; she served as a Sunday school teacher at Shiloh Church for 40+ years. Always willing to lend a hand or provide some type of support, Cathy had a true servant's heart. To her sons, it seemed she was always offering to help someone else; be it a family member, neighbor, or acquaintance from years ago.
Arrangements will be entrusted to Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon. Visitors may call on Monday Evening, December 29th from 4:00-8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 30th at 11:00. An hour of visitation starting at 10:00 AM will precede the funeral. Graveside services will be held at Walnut Hill where Cathy will be interred.
In lieu of flowers or memorial donations, the family would like to challenge callers and readers to complete an act of service in Cathy's memory. Drive someone to the doctor or church, make a meal for someone, share some extra cookies you've made during the holiday, go volunteer at a Women's Shelter, deliver a meal for Meals on Wheels, visit those in a nursing home, volunteer for a project at your church, volunteer at the community center in Odon. "And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased". Hebrews 13:16
Condolences and memories may be shared with the family online at www.mengfuneralhome.com.
