Obituary

Charles R. Halbach, 80, of Linton, Indiana, passed away Monday, July 30, 2007, at Bloomington Hospital in Bloomington, IN. He was a life-long resident of Linton born on March 22, 1927, to Charles W. and Elsie M. (Fulkerson) Halbach. On November 24, 1949, he married Lola Irene Flater.

Charles was a US Navy veteran who served during WWII. After serving in the military, he became a member of the Laborers and Hod Carriers Union. He was also the owner and operator of the Linton Beauty College. Charles retired in 1992. He was a member of the First Church of God in Linton and attended Faith Tabernacle Church in Bloomfield, IN.

Survivors include: three daughters, Jean A. (Gary) Gregory, Diana L. Teague, and Kathy S. Smith, all of Linton, Grandchildren: Tera S. Moore, Amanda L. Boulanger, Heather D. Smith, and Matthew Teague of Linton, Brandon Ryan Smith of San Diego, CA, and great-grandchildren: Brady, Kyle, Kennedy, Madison, and Dave'aya, and one sister, Rita (Bob) Blaker, also of Linton, IN.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lola I. Halbach, and one sister, Lolita Halbach.

Friends may call at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, August 2, 2007, and Friday, August 3, 2007, from 9:00 AM until the hour of service. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 3, 2007, with Rev. John Catchem and Rev. James Delaney officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton, with Military Graveside Rites conducted by Frank Courtney American Legion Post #22.
