Chester Cleo 'Peanut' Brummett, Jr., 90, of Newberry, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at his residence. He was born on July 5, 1931 in Odon, Indiana to Chester Cleo, Sr. and Mary Margaret (Wadsworth) Brummett, Sr. Chester married Betty Gail (Byrer) Brummett in August 1956.

Chester was a US Army veteran and was a member of the Shiloh Church of God. He spent many years farming.

Family left to cherish the memory of Chester include: three sons, Kenton Brummett of Plainville, Ronald Brummett and Phillip Brummett; four daughters, Sandra Wood of Spencer, Gloria (Danny) Bough of Worthington, Sharon Brummett and Judy (Vernon) Carpenter, of Greenfield; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Bill (Pauline) Brummett of Odon; two sisters, Hilda Sue (James) Brown of Washington and Linda (Robert) Hamlin of Bloomfield.

Chester was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife, Betty Brummett; one infant great-grandson; one infant great-great-grandson; two brothers, Harold Wadsworth and David Brummett; five sisters, Mary Almeda Byrer, Gleda Ruth Byrer, Patricia Myers, Viola Cox and Vivian Castillo.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 21, 2022 at Kilgore Cemetery in Raglesville with Steve Sims officiating. Military Graveside Rites will be provided by the Odon VFW Post #9627.

There will be no public visitation.
