Chester K. Edmonson, 70. Of Linton, Indiana, passed away surrounded by his family, on January 7, 2020 at Indianapolis. He was born on February 20, 1949 in Jasonville, Indiana to Chester B. and Netta M. (Higar) Edmonson. Chester married his loving wife, Vickey A. (Rose) Edmonson on December 6, 1985.
Chester was an Electronic Technician at Crane Naval Base, retiring in 2013 with 40 years of service. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and NAFE. Chester enjoyed woodworking, playing the steel guitar and string instruments, and volunteering at Shakamak Good Samaritan Society.
Family left to cherish the memory of Chester include: his wife, Vickey Edmonson; three daughters, Jodi Edmonson of South Bend, Amanda (Jerry) Gallagher of Linton and Michelle (Lonnie) Emmons of Lyons;; ten grandchildren, Kenneth, Kristopher, Kyra, Kerra, Cody, Jillian, Shaye, Dane, Dylan and Caitlin; two brothers, John (Rosella) Edmonson of Jasonville and Jim (Judy) Edmonson of Jasonville; sister-in-law, Carla Edmonson of Terre Haute and brother-in-law, Larry Samm of Seelyville.
Chester was preceded in death by: his parents; sister, Judy Samm; two brothers, Darrell Edmonson and Donnie Ray Edmonson.
Funeral services to honor the life of Chester will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Meng Family Funeral Homes, Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Pastor Melinda Tatman officiating.
Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Children's Hospital or Linton Civitan. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
