Dale W. Knotts, 73, of rural Linton, passed from this life with family by his side, on Friday, December 9, 2022, at his residence. He was born on February 25, 1949, in Sullivan, IN, to Charles D. and Wanda 'Jean" (Hislip) Knotts. Dale married his loving wife, Cathie Ann (Morgan) Knotts on December 26, 1987.
Dale received his bachelor's degree from Purdue University and was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. He was a banker and employed for several years at both Regions and Mutual Banks. Dale was a member of Shaker Prairie Christian Church in Carlisle and many organizations including: the Linton Civitan Club, Linton-Stockton Chamber of Commerce, Greene Co. Economic Development, The Carlisle Masonic Lodge #3 F & AM, and the Linton BPO Elks #866. Dale loved life and developed a great passion to help save the Monarch butterfly upon learning it was on the endangered species list. He will be truly missed by family and friends.
Family left to cherish Dale's memories include: his wife, Cathie Knotts; two daughters, Jessica (Robert) Stallings of NC and Michelle Vaught of Sullivan, 3 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and a sister, Karen L (PJ) Pierson of Evansville, IN.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services to honor Dale's life will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 12, 2022, at the Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Del Unger officiating. Dale will be laid to rest in the IOOF Cemetery in Carlisle.
Family and friends may call from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Sunday, December 11 and from 9:00 AM until the hour of service at 10:00 AM on Monday at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made to the Linton Civitan Club or Linton Chamber of Commerce in Dale's memory.
