April 25, 1947 – November 26, 2024
Danny R. Doades, 77, of Odon, Indiana, went to Heaven, with family by his side, on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. He was born on April 25, 1947 in Decker Chapel, Indiana to Corbin Ray and Gladys May (Merrill) Doades. Danny married his wife, Mary Beth (Wilson) Doades on December 28, 1973.
Danny was a US Air Force Veteran and worked at NSA Crane as an electrical engineer, retiring in 2006. He was a member of the 2nd Mount Olive Baptist Church, where he was a Trustee, Deacon and taught a Pre-school Sunday School Class for 21 years. Danny served on the Ketcham Memorial Nursing Center Board for several years. He liked the outdoors, gardening, collecting antique toys, beach holidays and the ocean. Danny cheered for the St. Louis Cardinals and was an IU fan. He loved spending time with family, especially his grandkids.
Family left to cherish the memories of Danny include: his wife, Mary Beth Doades; three sons, Matthew (Leslie) Doades, Tyler (Rachel) Doades and Marc Doades; grandchildren, Katie Doades, Macie (Cody) Exley, Aundreya Corwin, Alayna Doades, Ethan Doades and Abby Doades; brothers, Leon (Marilyn) Doades and Kenneth Doades; sisters, Jane (Bill) Goodrich, Barbara (Bob) Frederick, Emily Goodrich, Karol Doades and Vicky Wathen.
Danny was preceded in death by: his parents; brothers, Roger Doades and infant brother; sisters, Mary Caughran, Shirley George and Lavon Boyd.
Funeral services to honor the life of Danny will be at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 2nd Mount Olive Baptist Church in Odon with Adam Cissell officiating. Danny will be laid to rest in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon following military graveside rites presented by the US Air Force Honor Guard and Odon VFW Post #9627.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, December 2, 2024 and from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the 2nd Mount Olive Baptist Church or Samaritan's Purse in memory of Danny. Envelopes will be available at the church.
