David Russell McConnell, 65, of Bloomington, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington. He was born on August 23, 1952 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Russell Ellsworth and Julia Josephine (Rowland) McConnell. He married his loving wife, Marcia (Wallace) McConnell on June 6, 1975.

Dave worked as a custom furniture builder and a musician. He was a talented singer, song writer and was an advocate for all local musicians in the Bloomington community. Dave was well known for his artistic ability and woodworking craftsmanship designing and building custom furniture. He continued his artistic expression with his creative designs and workmanship in quilting.

Survivors include his wife, Marcia McConnell of Bloomington and his sister, Ruthanne McConnell of the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents.

The family is honoring Dave's wishes and there will be private services held at a later time.
