Obituary

Dennis 'Dino' Ray Brower, 62 of Odon, IN, passed from this life on Friday, February 10, 2017, in Jasper, IN. He was born November 15, 1954, in Knox County, IN, to James Jr. and Betty L. (Jackson) Brower.

Dennis graduated from North Daviess High School in 1973, and joined the U.S. Navy.  He served on an aircraft carrier during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, he took a job at the Crane Naval Base, where he worked until retirement in 2007.  Dennis was a member of the Odon First Christian Church and loved his family and countless friends. He was an amazing friend, with a big heart; and he had a blunt and funny way of laying life out for you. He loved motorcycles as evidenced by many rides with his son, brothers, and friends and the comical stories that were told after each adventurous trip. Some of the best days of his life were shared on motorcycle rides.

Survivors include: his mother, Betty Brower of Odon; one son, Derek (Amanda) Brower; three grandsons: Austin, Braxton & Deacon Brower, all of Washington; two granddaughters: Claire & Solei Murphy of Vincennes; two brothers: Darrell (Debbie) Brower of Odon & David (Amy) Brower of Washington; a sister, Darla Brower of Odon; and nephews: Dalton, Jess, Trent, Aaron, Jeromy, Kyle & Dillon Brower. Several great nieces & nephews also survive.

Dennis was preceded in death by his father, James Brower; a son, Cody Brower; a grandson, Draven Brower; a sister, Pam Brower; and grandparents: Sidney & Lydia Jackson and James & Eva Brower.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Riley Children's Hospital in Dennis' name.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 16, 2017, at the Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon, with Richard Crabtree officiating. Dennis will be laid to rest in Sugarland Memory Gardens in Washington, IN. Military Graveside Rites will be provided by the Odon VFW, Odon American Legion, and the Navy Honor Guard.
