Dorothy M. Hostetter, 98, of Elnora, Indiana, passed away peacefully, on Monday, November 18, 2019, at Daviess Community Hospital in Washington, Indiana. She was born on August 30, 1921 in Marco, Indiana to Jacob E. and Mary Elsie (Pitcher) Hall. Dorothy married John Raymond Hostetter on October 24, 1938.

Dorothy was a member of the Elnora Christian Church, where she was custodian. She worked at Dearmin & Company in Odon, Sarkes Tarzian Electronics in Bloomington and Graham Cheese in Elnora. Dorothy enjoyed being a homemaker, mom and beloved grandma. Her family meant the world to her.

Family left to cherish the memory of Dorothy includes: her two sons, John Edward (Betty) Hostetter of Elnora and Larry (Crystal) Hostetter of Texas; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia Hauck of Linton and Myrtle Brough of Solsberry, Indiana.

Dorothy was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, John Raymond Hostetter; four brothers, William, Arthur, Maurice and Ray Hall and one sister, Mary Margaret Rice.

A funeral service honoring Dorothy's life will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 22, 2019 at Meng Family Funeral Homes in Odon with Jim Pieper officiating. Dorothy will be laid to rest in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, November 21 and from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Elnora Christian Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
