Dorothy Cooper Ranard, 88, of Daytona Beach, Fla., and formerly of Linton, passed away at 12:25 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005 at Indigo Manor, Daytona Beach.
She is the daughter of Everett and Mary (Hill) Knowles. Her first husband Luther Cooper, passed away in 1956. Her second husband Raleigh Ranard, Jr. passed away in 1970.
She retired from General Electric Linton Plant after 18 years of service in 1973. She was a member of Assembly of God in Linton for 21 years, a Sunday School teacher, Secretary of Adult Sunday School class, a member of W.M.I., charter member of River of Abundant Life Assembly of God Church in Daytona Beach, Fla., and a member of Ladies Aglow.
Survivors include: two sons, Tony L. Cooper of Greenwood, and Tom L. Cooper of Fort Orange, Fla.; one sister Mrs. Ruby Grindstaff of Linton; and one brother Gerald Knowles of Linton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, Luther Cooper and Raleigh Ranard, Jr., five brothers, two sisters and two sons.
Funeral service will be at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel, Linton on Friday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Mark Dunlap officiating. Burial will be in Stafford Cemetery.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
