Edward L. Davidek, 77, of Linton, Indiana, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2007, at Glenburn Home in Linton. He was born September 27, 1929, to George E. and Elsie A. (Marsik) Davidek.
Edward was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean War. He later became a truck driver and retired in 1987. He was a member of the Linton First Baptist Church, the American Legion Post #22, and the Loyal Order of the Moose #1434.
Survivors include his companion, Lorene Frank of Linton, five sons: George E. (Donna) Davidek, II of Marco Island, FL, James W. (Deborah) Davidek of Auburn, WA, Jerry (Linda) Davidek of Bolingbrook, IL, William (Kelli) Davidek, of Bolingbrook, IL, and Edward (Becky) Davidek, II of Bolingbrook, IL, and one daughter, Karen (Mike) Walker of Gatlinburg, TN. One sister Georgia A. (Louis) Violet of Cornell, WI, 9 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and five nephews also survive.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents.
For those who wish to make memorial contributions in lieu of flowers, the family has requested the First Baptist Church in Linton.
Friends may call at Anderson-Poindexter Funeral Home from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday July 18, 2007. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 with Rev. David Tyra officiating. Military Honors will be given at the funeral home immediately following the funeral service. Interment will take place at Marion National Cemetery in Marion, IN.
