Elisabeth Lester, 78, of Bloomfield, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at IU Health, Bloomington Hospital. She was born on June 29, 1943 in Aarhus, Denmark to Hans Peder and Kirstine (Jensen) Johansen.

Elisabeth worked many years as a grocery store cashier. She enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles, needlepoint and knitting. Elisabeth was caring, generous, kind, good-hearted and had a way of always making people feel welcome. She was a joy to be around.

Family left to cherish the memory of Elisabeth include: one son, Allen (Lynn) Madsen of Odon; two daughters, Lonnie Slider and Birgitte Nichols, both of Bloomfield; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Elisabeth was preceded in death by her parents and half-brother, Hans Peder Johansen.

There will be no visitation or services for Elisabeth.
