December 20, 1911 – April 1, 2018
Elizabeth Gulledge, one of the county's oldest residents, 106, of Washington, Indiana, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at Washington. She was born on December 20, 1911 in Daviess County, Indiana to Charles Will and Bertha Viola (Hannah) Myers. Elizabeth married Ray Gulledge on June 1, 1934.
Elizabeth was a member of the Elnora Christian Church, Royal Neighbors, Rebekah Lodge and Browning Club. She volunteered for RSVP at Daviess Community Hospital, they began in 1991 making dressed bears for the children who were patients there. Elizabeth was a bookkeeper for the Detroit Stock Exchange with 27 years of service.
Survivors include: one daughter, Gloria Sue McChesney of Alma, MI; one granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by: her husband, Ray Gulledge; one son, Charles Grandville Gulledge; three sisters, Catheryn Abbott, Mary Lucille Myers and Mildred Miller; six brothers, Don Myers, Eli Paul Myers, Rex Kermit Myers, Charles Spencer Myers, Ralph Myers and Bill Myers, Jr.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2:30 PM on Friday, April 6, 2018 in the Mausoleum at Sugarland Memory Gardens in Washington with Brother Richard Smith officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:30 PM until time of service at 2:30 PM.
