Emile Lechien, 96, of Linton, Indiana, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2007 at the Good Samaritan Nursing in Jasonville, Indiana. Born in Linton, Indiana, on June 26, 1910, he was the son of Adolph and Virginia (Vandeneede) Lechien. He married Wanetta Storms. Emile was a veteran of the US Army and served in WWII, he also received three bronze stars. He worked at the Linton Iron and Metal and retired in 1976. Emile was a member of the Frank Courtney American Legion Post #22 in Linton and he enjoyed fishing, woodworking and being with his family.
Survivors include one son; Steve (Barbara) Lechien of Flower Mount, TX, two daughter-in-laws; Deloris Lechien and Sue Lechien both of Linton, Indiana, grandchildren; Rick Lechien, Dana Cubert, Robin Wrenn, Lorie Cullison, Lisa Ferree, Kathy Daugherty and Laura Lechien and one sister; May Nell (Bob) Nail of Linton. Emile was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, two sons; Ronald and Jerry Lechien, two brothers Arthur and Adolph Jr. Lechien and two sisters; Mary Monier and Florence Tannihill.
Friends may call at Anderson-Poindexter Funeral Home from 11:00 to 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 30, 2007. Funeral services will be held at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel on Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at 1:00 PM with Rev. David Tyra officiating. A military graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery and burial will follow.
