Ernie Lee Phillips, 72, of Linton, Indiana, passed away with the loving staff of Gibson Family Center by his side, on Sunday, August 7, 2022, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana. He was born on June 22, 1950, in Linton to Horace E. and Irene M. (Mast) Phillips. Ernie married his loving wife, Leona R. (Gambill) Phillips on March 17, 1975.

Ernie worked as his last job as head of security with Guardsmark at the General Electric Linton Plant, retiring with several years of service. He enjoyed trap shooting, fishing and loved to shoot pool.

Family left to cherish the memories of Ernie include his wife, Leona Phillips; two sons, Jim (Jessie) Phillips and Steve Phillips, both of Linton; four grandchildren, Amelia, Brittany, Austin, and Andrea; two great-grandchildren and a sister, Loretta (Steve) Bean of Linton.

Ernie was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, James Austin.

Graveside services will be at 2:30 PM on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at Antioch Cemetery in Dugger with Rick Gambill officiating.

Family and friends may call from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Wednesday at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton.
