Eugene Wagler, 72, of Odon, Indiana, went to Heaven peacefully on Friday, April 29, 2022, at his residence. He was born on August 6, 1949, in Hicksville, Ohio to Herbert and Rachel (Stoll) Wagler. On September 14, 1974, he took Betty M. (Gingerich) as his bride in Holy Matrimony.

Eugene was a member of the Bethel Mennonite Church. He was also a partner in the Miller and Wagler Construction Company in which he had worked for many years.

Survivors include his wife Betty, their children, Scott Eugene (Gretchen) Wagler of Plainville, Shawn Wagler of Odon, Misty Wagler of Washington, Michael (Kaitlin) Wagler of Vincennes, Maggie (Derek) Fowler of Vincennes, grandchildren Caleb, Kilee, Jazmin, Zander, Eli, Daxx, Malone, Miley and Isla. Brothers, Kenny Wagler of Elnora, Stephen (Pam) Wagler of Evansville, sister, Darlene (Sam) Stoltzfus of Plainville and sister-in-law Catherine Wagler Knepp.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents; brother Jim Wagler and infant sister Joyce Ann Wagler.

Funeral services for Eugene will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Bethel Mennonite Church in Odon with Carmen Detweiler and Ashley Shurtz officiating. Eugene will be laid to rest in Bethel Mennonite Church Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, and 9:00 until time of services Thursday at the Bethel Mennonite Church.
