Obituary

Ira Freeman Kemp, 52, of Odon, Indiana, passed away on January 25, 1981 in Odon. He was born in Daviess County, Indiana on August 1, 1928 to Joseph S and Fannie (Briskey) Kemp.

Freeman was a charter member of the Bethel Mennonite Church. He was a farmer and worked at Humerickhouse Lumber. Freeman enjoyed playing music on the guitar, spending time with his family and mushroom hunting with his daughter, and working on the farm with his son.

Survivors include: one son, Terry Kemp of Montgomery; one daughter, Beverly (Christopher) Kemp Bailey of Brookston, IN; two grandsons, Stephen and Matthew Bailey.

Freeman was preceded in death by: his parents; four sisters, Lydia Lengacher, Esther Miller, Mary Miller, infant sister, Viola; five brothers, Simon, Fred and William Kemp and two infant brothers.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 11, 2016 at the Bethel Mennonite Church. Freeman will be laid to rest in the Bethel Mennonite Cemetery in Odon.

Friends and family may call from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at the church located 4 miles South of Odon on the Cannelburg Rd.
