G. Evelyn Preble, age 88, of the rural Linton, passed away Tuesday June 27, 2006 at the Greene County General Hospital. She was born on February 05, 1918 to Harold and Sarah(Roush) Duncan.
She married Dennis H. Preble on August 06, 1942, in Charleston, SC. She was a homemaker and a switchboard operator during WWII in Coal City, IN. She was member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church where she attended for 58 years.
She is survived by two Daughters: Denise A. Gabbard of Linton, and Linda E. (Garry) Russell of Princeton, IN, a Son: John D. (Sue Ann) Preble of Linton, and five grandchildren: Annette Agin, SSgt., Keith A. Gabbard, Dusty Russell, Emilee Preble, and Julie Preble. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers: Ermil Glen 'Bud' Duncan and William D. 'Bill' Duncan.
Funeral services will be officiated by Michael Chapman with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
