Obituary

Gary R. Keene, 83, of Linton, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2026, with family by his side, at his son’s home in Linton. He was born on June 13, 1943, in Sullivan, Indiana to Ray Glen and Anna Lucille (McClellan) Keene. Gary married the love of his life, Roberta K. (Miller) Keene on October 17, 1970.

Gary worked at Keller Aluminum, RCA for 28 years, KPT, Cord Factory, Power Line and Green Construction before retiring in 2001. He enjoyed coon hunting, fox chasing and watching the Linton Miners Football Team. One of the things Gary looked forward to the most was attending all the area county fairs. He enjoyed meeting new friends and catching up with old friends. He will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.

Family left to cherish the memories of Gary include: three sons, Russell Ray (Lori) Keene, Sr. of Lyons, Wilson Earl (Michelle) Keene, Sr. of Bloomfield and Daniel Allen (Angel) Keene of Linton; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Darrell (Lois) Keene of Brownsburg and Glen (Bonnie) Keene of Lyons.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Roberta Keene in 2017; one son, Christopher Reid Keene; two brothers, Johnny Ray Keene and Paul Wilson Keene; two sisters, Debbie Morrison and Thelma Ruth Wilkes.

Funeral services to honor the life of Gary will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with his great-nephew, Trent Wilkes officiating. Gary will be laid to rest in Sink Cemetery in Clay City, Indiana.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, and from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Thursday at the funeral home.
