Gertrude L. Weaver, 95, of Linton, Indiana, went to Heaven with family by her side, on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Glenburn Home in Linton. She was born on April 26, 1931, in Westphalia, Indiana to Ernest William Carl and Frieda Johanna (Prior) Volle. Gertrude was wedded in marriage to Joseph Marczak on July 21, 1955, and from that marriage they had three children. Later in life she married Larry L. Weaver on February 26, 1998.
Gertrude was a member of the Bethel Church in Freelandville, Lyons Community Church in Lyons and Samaria Church in Dugger. She was a homemaker and cake decorator. Her hobbies were playing the piano, reading, crocheting and sewing.
Family left to cherish the memory of Gertrude include: three sons, Dennis (Kem) Marczak of Bicknell, Doug (Rita) Marczak of Linton and Daniel (Diane) Marczak of Vincennes; grandchildren, Dannica (Casey) Erickson, Shawn (Corey) Benner, Amberlee (Russ) Helms, Valerie (Jacob) Cary, Rachelle (Daniel) Trabant, Lindsey (Kyle) Mehringer, Megan (Jarrett) Griswold, and Morgan Marczak; great-grandchildren, Daymon Cox, Alyse Erickson, Pierce Erickson, Olivia Helms, Nolan Helms, Casen Benner, Melanie Cary, Levin Cary, Linkin Cary, Will Trabant, Amelia Trabant, Myah Griswold and Truett Griswold; one sister, Betty (Bob) Miller of Bicknell. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Gertrude was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Joseph Marczak (2000) and Larry Weaver (2015); brothers, Roy (Doris) Volle, Ernie Lee Volle and Hilbert Volle; sisters, Anita (Joe) Catt and Judy (Jim) Brown.
Funeral services to honor the life of Gertrude will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Larry Weaver, Jr. officiating. Gertrude will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
