Gordon Eugene 'Gene' Brinegar, 68, of Odon, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. He was born on May 4, 1949 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Gordon Cecil Brinegar and May (Phillips) Kelsey. Gene married his loving wife, Roberta (Cole) Brinegar on December 3, 1983.

Gene was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. He was a retired member of Glazier's local #1165. Gene loved to fish, loved his family and was a loyal friend.

Survivors include: his wife, Bert Brinegar; three sons, Brad (Jennifer) Brinegar of Bloomfield, Chris (Serena) Brinegar of Owensburg and David (Julie) Stephens of Washington; daughter, Laura (Jeff) Carie of Vincennes; grandchildren, Trenton, Chandler, Dawson and Alandra Brinegar, Jonathan Greene, Jacob (Jessica) Stephens, Matthew Stephens, Savannah and Isaac Jacob; his father, Gordon Brinegar; sister, Eldina Byers; five brothers, Joe Kinser, Bill, John, Tom and Tim Brinegar.

Gene was preceded in death by his mother, May Kelsey.

Family and friends may call from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Sunday, June 25 at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon. There is no service scheduled.

Memorial contributions may be made, in memory of Gene, to the Odon VFW Post #9627. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
