H. Duane Sargent, 75, died Friday, June 17, 2016 at Brookdale Senior Living Solutions in Apache Junction, AZ.

He was born August 4, 1940 to Ivan and Wilma (Roach) Sargent in Daviess County. He married Shirley (Taylor) Sargent on November 11, 2006.

Duane was a 1957 graduate of Loogootee High School. He served in the National Guard and retired from the wholesale building association. He was an avid golfer and bowler.

Surviving are: his wife, Shirley; daughter, Kimberly Carr of San Tan Valley, AZ; granddaughters, Victoria (Alex) Bic of Ranch Sahuarita, AZ, Kyra Carr of San Tan Valley, AZ; stepsons, Brett (Debra) Wycoff of Oceanside, CA, Brian (Lori) Wycoff of Garland, TX, Jeff (Jodi) Wycoff of Oak Grove, MO; 13 step-grandchildren and 13 step-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by: sisters, Teresa (Bill) Ward of Sunman, IN, Joni Parker of Loogootee, IN; brothers, Larry (Marilee) Sargent of Jasper, IN and Steve Sargent of Loogootee, IN; 6 nieces and 5 nephews.

Duane was preceded in death by: his parents, Ivan and Wilma Sargent and sister, Sharon (Sherry) Humerickhouse.

In accordance with Duane's request, no public service will be held.
