Helen M. Chambers, 73, of Odon, Indiana, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Odon. She was born on February 15, 1945 in Dearborn, Michigan to Walter Harting and Capitola (O'Dell) Harting-Heyboer. She married Byron L. Chambers on May 23, 1963.

Helen was a member of the Odon Christian Church and was an RSVP Volunteer. She enjoyed fishing, reading, doing volunteer work, ministry work and Walk to Emmaus Community. Helen especially liked spending time with her grandchildren, Ruth and the Naomi Circle.

Survivors include: five daughters: Denise (Larry) Fitzgerald of Odon, Tammy (Keith) Petry of Evansville, Melissa Miller of Odon, Michelle (Dan) Wilson of Huntingburg and Tina (Shawn) Peterson of Odon; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Bill Harting of Eaton, IN and one sister, Elsie McTaggart of Shelbyville, IN.

Helen was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Byron Chambers; one brother, Jackie Lee Harting; four sisters, Phyllis Geiger, Joella Swan, Rose Summers and Shelby Jean Junod.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Odon Christian Church with Micah Stephen officiating. Helen will be laid to rest in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, March 23 at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon and from 12:00 PM until the time of service at 2:00 PM on Saturday at the church.
