Rev. Ivan R. Stone, 93, of Linton, passed away Monday, May 21, 2007, at Linton Nursing and Rehab Center. Born in Steel Crossroads in Hardin Co., KY on August 26, 1913 he was the son of Rodrick and Rose Mae (Eubanks) Stone. On March 18, 1942, he married Zola Mildred (Rose). Rev. Stone was a member of Church of God. Ordained Minister - On July 12, 1940 he completed his Bible Training School for ministers at Sevierville, TN. In September he was appointed to pastor at the Linton Church of God. He loved to preach the gospel and at one time he had a morning radio show, he preached in various states, namely Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan, Virginia, West Virginia, Louisiana, Georgia and Missouri and also taught bible studies, held many revivals. Being an evangelist was what he liked most of all.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews. Rev. Stone was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Elmer, Everett, George Irwin and Burton Stone. Five sisters, Beulah Keith, Pauline Meyers, Della Stone, Verna Beaubien and Thelma Ray.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 25, 2007, at 10:30 AM with Rev. Russell Black and nephew Rev. Paul Keith officiating. Calling hours will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton and from 9:00 AM Friday until the hour of service. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
