Jack R. Bechtel, 67, of Bicknell, formerly Elnora, Indiana, passed away peacefully with family by his side, on Monday, June 7, 2021, at his residence.  He was born on January 8, 1954, in Washington, Indiana to W. Eugene & Mary (Sullivan) Bechtel.  He married his loving wife, Misty (Smeltzer) on November 7, 1992.

Jack had 10 years of service at Custom Farm Services in Elnora and then was maintenance director at North Daviess Community Schools with over 23 years of service, retiring in 2011.

Family left to cherish the memory of Jack includes:  his wife, Misty; daughters, Valerie (Kenny) Turpin of Vincennes, Brittany (Thomas) Chestnut of Sandborn, Jaclyn (JR) Ferguson of Sandborn; eight grandchildren, Kyle Howard, Bradie Turpin, QuiAnna Bechtel, Dawson Chestnut, Abby, Paisley, Eddie and Kai'Lyn Ferguson; brothers, Jeb (Rickie) Bechtel, Shorty (Donna) Bechtel, Joe (Bobbi) Bechtel; sisters, Dixie Beasley, and Nancy Ramsey.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren, David Eugene, Angel Skye and Baby Fergi.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 14, 2021, at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Adam Cissell officiating.  Jack will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Elnora, Indiana.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home.
