James A. Leonard, Jr., 86, of Linton, Indiana, passed away at his daughter's home in Odon, Indiana, surrounded by loved ones, Sunday, May 11, 2025. He was born May 26, 1938 to James A. Leonard, Sr. and Margaret E. (Lashbrook) in French Lick, Indiana. Jim married his soulmate, Carole E. (Zigler) on April 26, 1958 and shared 64 wonderful years until Carole's passing.

A veteran of the Army National Guard, James served 36 years at NSA Crane Naval Base as a tool and die maker, retiring in 2003. He was of the Christian faith and enjoyed several hobbies outside of work including golfing, bowling, and fishing.

Family left to cherish Jim's memory include: his son, Geoff Leonard-Robinson and Steven of Texas; daughter, Robin Terrell and Larry of Odon; grandchildren, Dustin, Darin, and Jason Terrell; great-grandchildren, Briceton, Jocelyn and Ricky.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Carole, parents and his brother, Joe Leonard.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 15th at the Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Jeff Williams officiating. Burial will be held at Walnut Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14th at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Greene County Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
