James Andre' Vasquez Byrer, 57, of Bicknell, Indiana, passed away with family by his side, on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at his home. He was born on March 26, 1967 in Puerto Rico, the son of Donald G. and Barbara A. (Winegar) Byrer.

James was raised in Bicknell and attended North Knox High School, graduating in 1985. He then moved to Crawfordsville to live, work and raise his daughter. James operated a newspaper printing press and was a gun collector. He liked to golf, spend time at amusement parks, watch and attend Indy 500 racing. He enjoyed water sports, hiking, cooking and outdoor concerts. James was at his best when he attended musical venues featuring his daughter, Jennifer Ann, of whom he was so very proud.

Family left to cherish the memory of James include: his daughter, Jennifer Ann Byrer; three sisters, Donna (Tracey) Detty of Bicknell, Debbie McGillem of Washington and Penney (Eric) Koenig of Bicknell; two brothers, Todd Allen of Vincennes and Hector Vasquez, Jr.; the mother of his daughter, Debbie (Harlan) Wethington. Several aunts, uncles and cousins survive.

James was preceded in death by his parents; his grandmother, Helen Hoover Jones; grandfather, Burnell Winegar; several aunts, uncles and cousins; his first wife, Sandra Donham.

Graveside services will be at 12 Noon on Friday, September 13, 2024 at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon.
