Janet M. Chestnut, 87, of Odon, Indiana, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at her residence. She was born on April 13, 1933 in Daviess County, Indiana to Jake and Thelma (Rydenbark) Chestnut. Janet married Ivis Chestnut on February 2, 1952.

Janet was a member of the Shiloh Church. She had 15 years of service at RCA and 15 years of service at Crane before retiring.

Family left to cherish the memory of Janet include: two daughters, Kimberly (Robert) Paul and Rita Howard, both of Odon; five grandchildren, Chelsea Milligan, Kevin, Kristen, Kelsey and Kendra Howard; four brothers, Leo (Marilyn) Ramsey, Elmo (Sue) Ramsey, Gary (Gail) Ramsey and Dencil (Becky) Ramsey.

Janet was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Ivis Chestnut; infant daughter, Brenda Chestnut; brother, Jakie Chestnut and sister, Violet Sims.

A family graveside service will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 29, 2020 at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon with Steve Sims officiating.
