Janice A. Steele, 71, of Elnora, IN, passed away peacefully, on Thursday, July 6, 2017, at the Daviess County Community Hospital. She was born in Connecticut on July 1, 1946, to Don and Hope (Meredith) Gracy. She married her loving husband, Ted E. Steele, on August 22, 1997.

Janice worked a secretary for Carpenter's Realtors for 20 years and retired in 1995.  She was baptized and was a believer.  Janice, also, loved animals and her furry friends held a special place in her life.

Survivors include: her husband, Ted E. Steele of Elnora; 5 children: daughter, Kelly Mayes; daughter, Medina Leary; son, Shane Stevens; daughter, Rachel Clark; and son, Ken Steele; 8 grandchildren: Nick Mayhew, Josh Mayes, Curtis Johnson, Krista Leary, Dawson Stevens, Wesley Moore, Bradley Moore, and Lindsey Moore; 6 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Donna Johnson.

Janice was preceded in death by: her parents and a brother, Donnie Gracy.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at the Meng Family Funeral Home of Odon with Bro. Richard Smith officiating. Janice will be laid to rest in the Elnora Fairview Cemetery.

Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM, (the hour of service), on Tuesday, July 11th.
