LINTON- Dr. John Daniel Ax, age 59, of Linton, Indiana passed away on Friday, August 25, 2006 at the Greene Co. General Hosp. He was born on November 1, 1946 in Evansville, IN to Judge John R. and Kathryn Marie (Stienkamp) Ax. He married Mercedes Rubira on September 14, 1990. He worked at the PBS Station KERA as a First class engineer in Texas, moved back to Indianapolis and worked for WFBM Channel 6, moved back to Linton and resumed managing the family farm in Linton. Dan was licensed in Real Estate and Insurance and started his own business and also built Spec Homes. Completed his education with ISU and was matriculated into Berry University School of Podiatic Medicine in Miami Shore, Florida. He started his practice in Lyons, IN 1990. Dan attends St. Peter Catholic Church, Graduate from Linton-Stockton in 1964, Attended Butler University, was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity, attend ISU and University of Texas at Arlington. Former member of Linton Civitan, BPO Elks, Moose Lodge & Rotary Clubs at varies times of his life. Dan was a member of Indiana Podiatory Assoc., American Podiatory Assoc., American Pain Assoc. and National Minimal Incision Assoc.

He is survived by his Mother; Kathryn Marie (Stancamp) Ax, Spouse; Mercedes (Rubira) Ax of Linton, Indiana, three daughters; Christy E. (Michael A.) Cottone of Charleston, SC, Patricia K. Ax of Omaha, Nebraska, and Caridad Ax of Linton, Indiana, and three grandchildren; Addison, Chase, and Ansley. He is also survived by his brother; Michael D. Ax of Vincennes, Indiana and his sister Kathryn A. Sullivan of Linton, Indiana. Rev. Hilary Vieck will officiate. A second visitation will take place at the Vista Memorial Funeral Home in Miami Lakes, FL with a graveside service at the Vista Memorial Gardens, followed by entombment at the Vista Memorial Gardens in Miami Lakes, FL on August 30, 2006.
