John D. Bowersock,71, of Bloomfield, died 6:45AM in Indianapolis, May 12, 2006. He was the son of George Robert and Mary Ann (Pruitt) Bowersock. He was a member of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church of Worthington, IN, and a veteran of the U.S. Army. John worked contruction with the Highway Department and Railroad, retiring in 1997. He was a avid fisherman and truly enjoyed the sport. John is survived by one son, Kevin E. (Sabrina) Bowersock of Indianapolis; a daughter, Beverly J. (Terry) Sankey of Terre Haute, IN. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; Jeremy W. Brewington, Heather A. Way, Chellsie, Kelisha, Zachary and Braxton Bowersock, and Melanie VanCleave; one brother, Amos Bowersock of Linton, and three sisters, Norma Jean Crouse of Mooresville, Beaulah Harris of Martinsville, IN and Sister Barbara Herman of Paoli, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers-Abe, Loren and Dennis Bowersock and two sisters-Corene Bowersock and Georgie Ruth Shaw, and one grandson-Kevon Bowersock. Rev. Wayne Grace will officiate with burial to follow at the Walker Cemetery, Worthington, IN with full military honors.
