Karen (Byrer) Karns, 81, of Odon, Indiana, went to Heaven with loved ones by her side, at her home, on Monday, September 15, 2025. She was born on October 23, 1943 in Raglesville, Indiana to Joe and Alice (Wadsworth) Byrer. Karen married the love of her life, Lester L. Karns on November 10, 1961.

Karen was a member of the Scotland Full Gospel Church. She served as a Pastor for many years, and her goal was to lead everyone to Christ. Karen loved cooking, reading, attending sporting events and keeping the book for softball. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially family time during the holidays.

Family left to cherish the memories of Karen include: three daughters, Dee Karns and Lesli (Bobby) Boardman, both of Odon and Debbie Loyd of Washington; six grandchildren, Macie (Ethen) Wagler, McKenzie (Kendall) Ruble, Brandon Karns, Blake Karns, Brittany (Mark) Payne and Brooke Floyd; six great-grandchildren, Landen Wagler, Lucas Wagler, Elaine Ruble, Madilyn Karns, Luka Karns and Ke'Andre Lesure; future great-granddaughter, Harper Wagler and brother, Randall (Shirley) Byrer.

Karen was preceded in death by: her parents, Joe and Alice Byrer; husband, Lester Karns; son, Travis Karns; grandson, Trent Loyd; brother, Joseph Byrer; sisters, Marceline Byrer, Gletus Dant and Almeda Flinn.

Funeral services to honor the life of Karen will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 19, 2025 at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Steve Sims officiating. Karen will be laid to rest in Kilgore Cemetery in Raglesville.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, September 18 and from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
