Kathryn Mae 'Kate' (Dale) Baker, 79, of Elnora, Indiana passed away surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at her home. She was born on August 3, 1938 in Odon, Indiana to Charles Lee and Nellie Mae (Brock) Dale. Kate married Woodrow V. 'Woody' Baker on January 1, 1957.

Kate was a member of the Nazarene Church of Newberry. She was a homemaker and was dedicated to the care of her home and family. Kate also enjoyed working and spending time in her flower garden.

Survivors include: four sons: David (Gina) Baker of Ohio, Woody (Pam) Baker, Jr. of Elnora, James (Sheila) Baker of Washington and Bob (Aleta) Baker of Elnora; three daughters, Becky (Tim) Pearson of Bloomfield, Shannon Baker of Elnora and Cathy Thompson of Oregon; two step-sons, Mike (Glenda) Baker of Florida and Phillip Baker of Washington; one step-daughter, Judy Fluckey of Jasper; thirty-seven grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Ellen Dale of Odon.

Kate was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Woody; step-sons, Jerri, Joseph and Donald Baker; daughters, Merri Christine Mottern and LaDonna Bowen; sister, Carolyn Dale.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM on Monday, August 21, 2017 at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Pastor Bill Purcell and Pastor Mike Ladson officiating. Kate will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Elnora.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, August 20 and from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Monday, August 21 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
