Kelly A. Markel, Jr. of Loogootee, Indiana, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Evansville, Indiana. He was born on June 30, 1942 in Akron, Ohio to Kelly A. Markel, Sr. and Eleanor E. (Mock) Markel. He married his loving wife, Sally A. (Carr) Markel on October 3, 1965.

Kelly was a member of the Jaycees. He was an Electronic Technician at Crane, retiring in 2000 with 32 years of service. Kelly enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and spending time with his grandchildren. He loved living by Boggs Lake since he was born and raised on a lake.

Family left to cherish Kelly's memory include: his wife, Sally Markel; two sons, Kelly 'Trea' Markel of Loogootee and Brett (Tonia) Markel of Odon; grandchildren, Alex Markel, Trevor Markel, Savannah Markel, Justin Markel and Austin 'Cheese' Markel; two brothers, Kenneth (Rita) Markel of North Carolina and Dale Markel of Palm Springs, CA; two sisters, Jerry Mallo of Akron, OH and Gail (Denny) Hurdt of Las Vegas, NV.

Kelly was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service is scheduled for 12 Noon on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Odon First Christian Church with Bro. Richard Crabtree officiating. Military Rites will be provided by the Odon VFW Post #9627.

Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of service at noon on Saturday, at the church.
